We would like to call for papers for the special issue CHALLENGES FOR ASIAN ECONOMIES” in Eurasian Economic Review.
While the role of Asian economies has become more important in the global economy, these economies are facing many challenges. Asia comprises of countries of different sizes (from small islands to large countries like India, China and Japan) and different characteristics (developed vs. developing).  Therefore, while some of Asian countries are developing and face challenges such as poverty, middle-income trap etc., others (i.e. Japan) face decline in potential growth, aging population etc. The recent Global Financial Crisis highlights the importance of further understanding of these distinct characteristics and these countries’ policy options.
